After clearing the farm, our next step was to get it looking pretty and build a fence for our future farm animals and our crazy cattle dog. We brought in tons of palms of several different varieties (Royal, Johannes, Manila, McArthur, etc.) and spent many weekends placing and planting them. Here are some videos and photos documenting the process:
Wearing my letters with pride! All of our neighbors, especially the men, were very impressed that I could drive a "tractor" - if they only knew!
You can never truly have a farm house without beautiful blue hydrangeas. Unfortunately, a few of our helpers did not share the sentiment and these poor blooms were trampled before I could plant them... We'll try again this year!
This last video shows almost all of Wai Kaya, however, there is some pretty thick bush behind the date palm that had yet to be cleared at that point to open the farm to the river.
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the LORD rather than for people. Remember that the LORD will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ."
