In the beginning there was...

DECEMBER 2010 - JANUARY 2011
... a blessing greater than either Greg or I could have imagined - an opportunity to own 2 acres on the North Shore of Oahu!  There was also A LOT of cane grass, rubbish dumped from previous neighbors, mosquitos, and no city water or electricity.  Fortunately, Greg is an insane visionary and an extremely talented, hard worker.  Here are a few videos of the lot as we first explored and cleared the farm so that it was walkable.

THIS is why we chose the name Wai Kaya:

One bonus we discovered is the deep, rich soil that covers our entire farm, which was previously used for farming taro.  We are delighted to have escaped the red dirt of the North Shore!

"The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.  He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.  He renews my strength.  He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name.  Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.  Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.  You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.  You honor me by anointing my head with oil.  My cup overflows with blessings.  Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever."
Psalm 23 (NLT)
